Ryan shaves his head for the first time!

So...you may or may not know that Ryan has been loosing his hair for over ten years now!
It's something that he has been able to conceal pretty good...so I know some people had no clue or just didn't know to what extent the hair loss was. We've been planning a trip to Disney for quite a while now and thought...ummm...maybe this would be the perfect time to make such a dramatic change. It would give him time to get  used to it before returning to work or the meetings...time to tan a little...and no one on vacation would ask him questions about it (cause we wouldn't know anyone) just incase he absolutely hated it. As the time came to leave for florida...the anxiety grew...to shave or not to shave...it's not like he could grow it back if it didn't work out.
Well, as most of you know he went through with it and I caught it all on film! I wanted to get his first reaction and also document such a huge decision for him. All said and done...he loves it! We all love it...even though Jonas did have to get used to it...he no longer asks  when daddy's hair is coming back! I think he looks so good and I know its a huge burden off of him.  He can go swimming and actually go under water, or put his top down on his car without a hat, or wrestle with jonas on the floor and not have to worry about messing up his hair.
Here's a little video and pictures of the process!

One bite is all it takes...

This past weekend we enjoyed a couple of days in Galveston. The mornings were a little too cold for the beach, so went to the Strand to shop and walk around. On our way we stopped by a bakery named Patty Cakes...across the street was the Mosquito Cafe, and the line was out the front door!! We knew it had to be good...so we decided to come back for lunch. That was the best decision of the weekend! The food was sooo delicious!
Ryan- Wrap-Tortilla crusted tilapia, brown rice, mixed greens, with shrimp etouffee sauce, and broccoli salad
Niome- Quesadillas-Smoked mozzarella, summer squash, zucchini, carrots, red onion, thai peanut sauce, with a coconut curry sauce, a side salad , and thai noodles.
Mom- Island Slammer-Grilled Shrimp, Hickory Smoked Peppered Bacon, Melted Swiss Cheese, Fresh Tomato, Red Leaf Lettuce and Garlic-Herb Mayo on a French Baguette

This will be a stop we'll make every time we're in Galveston!!

Toddler Party thoughts...

Early next year I'm planning to put together a toddler party for Jonas and all his friends with a circus theme...I'm thinking...snow cones, popcorn, cake, games, a clown, coloring activities, and lots of fun!
Here are a few ideas...

Mrs. Myers = love!

For years, the herb Lavender has been cherished for its wonderful relaxing scent that’s soothing, tranquilizing, and believed to relieve fatigue. We added essential oils of Lavender and Orange to give Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Lavender Products a burst of fresh fragrance and natural cleaning power. And of course, all of our Lavender Products are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Lavender Countertop Spray takes the basic formula of our All Purpose Cleaner and adds a special Vegetable Protein Extract, a naturally fresh way to remove odors. It cleans, degreases and removes odors from the kitchen, bathroom or any room, a naturally fresh way to clean surfaces. How nice!

Wow! This stuff is soooo nice! I love it! It smells like no other lavender cleaner I've used, and almost every brand has a lavender sent....well worth the 3.99! I sure plan on buying more of their products in this yummy scent!

Jonas joined the gym!

Jonas has been doing very well in his funny bugs class...where he gets to interact with other kids his age and have some independence away from me and with a teacher. He's enrolled in a basic gymnastics class where they work on building muscles by hanging on bars, somersaults, jumping, etc. From day one he went right in and loved it...I thought there would be a period where he'd experience some separation anxiety, but to my surprise he did not! We've had some moments of fear and in his words..."mommy I can't do all these cool tricks", but they'er just that...moments...the teachers are super good about defusing them.

and this is what I come back too!

Re-do...Bathrooms

Hey everyone, this post has been a long time in the making, and I'm finally going to post the before and after photos of our two bathrooms! Ryan and I live in an older home and have always wanted to remodel the bathrooms and kitchen...so we started with the two bathrooms. Thankfully they are small therefore the cost of materials was not too bad. Ryan did all the work after his reg. job and on the weekends...it took a while, but we are thrilled with the final outcome!
