You should go!

A few weeks ago we were just hanging out as a family and were thinking of something we could do with Jonas. Here we are in Houston TX and have never been to the downtown aquarium....what took us so long?!!? Who knows?? We made our way up there...and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of entertainment and hands on stuff there was for Jonas. Jonas just turned two....so there's not too much for his age group...a lot of activities are geared toward older kids. We first walked though the exhibit which was mainly huge aquariums saltwater and freshwater, and at the end he was able to touch some starfish and sting rays (which he didn't) and the big highlight was the white tigers!

He absolutely loved them! The neat thing about it was how freakishly close up you could get to them...literally just a glass from ceiling to floor separating you from...well...death (as ryan puts it)! Although there were moments of sadness for them...I was in complete awe. Next, we got on all (3) the rides...like I said before...these are just right for his age. I liked it cause it wasn't too much to do with a two year old...just enough to keep him happy and loving it! First, the train ride which goes through a tunnel tank filled with sharks. Next, of course the carousel!! And finally, the giant Farris wheel! We topped it off with dinner at the restaurant and once again the entertainment didn't stop...they sat us right in front of the 100,000+ gallon fish tank! We will defiantly be revisiting this place...and this time we're also taking the horse carriage ride though downtown!

Welcome to my blog

As the title says...Welcome! I wanted to start this blog in order to stay connected with friends and family who do not live near by. Here I will post about my life, family, and interests. I hope to update at least once a week and include plenty of pictures. I hope you enjoy taking a peak into our world.

My favorite room in the house

When I found out I was pregnant...I knew I would have fun decorating our new baby room! Of course if any of you know me and my mom...we had to start shopping!! (oh did I mention..we shopped before we knew "jonas" was a boy!!)  The room was painted a couple of times before we ended up with this light tan color. Thank God I have a nice husband and dad that didn't mind (or so they said) painting the room back-to-back! I absolutely  LOVE the final outcome of the room. I wanted it to be "baby" of course, but also something he could grow into. The room is filled with trucks, plans, and automobiles...all in muted primary colors. We had a local artist come paint a mural and we also added a plush rug to center the room.Oh, I almost for got what makes this room so comfortable...an oversized glider that reclines for those "all nighters" every set of parents encounter from time to time ;0). There's just something about being in this room that makes you feel so calm, and relaxed! I truly can say...it's my favorite room!
