Twisted Peppermint

These are a few things that I'm loving right now...and the reason I chose to share them is because they are only available this time of the year.
Check them out if you can...you'll be happy you did!
I'm also including a tumbler....you just have to try! (I know...you're thinking...what difference does that make??...Just try it and you'll see!!)

P.S. I know a couple of other geeks that are into all of this stuff too...but I wont mention any names!

Lake Shore Haul

Haul-the act of taking or acquiring something.
the load hauled at one time; quantity carried or transported.

Today Jonas and I picked up a few things at Lake Shore Learning...a teacher/learning supply store. Although it is quite expensive...they have some pretty neat things. Jonas loves to learn and as his mother...it is very satisfying to teach him new things and see him apply what he learns...just the other day I asked him if he would like some juice and he looked up at me and said "No thanks" Of course all I could do is stare at him for a moment in disbelief and then stutter out an "O...Kay". This isn't something that I've taken time out specifically to teach him it's just him picking it up by the examples we show him. The bottom line is Jonas is a sponge and learning is part of every second of his day!

It's nice to open a gift...every now and then

Hello, again!
Well, as you all know...Ryan and I just celebrated another anniversary! Growing up every year when my parents celebrated an anniversary they would always include me and wrap up a gift for me to open as well! I loved it because I felt part of their special day and I got to unwrap a gift (which I rarely did....not celebrating christmas and birthdays) We are always buying Jonas toys and what not, but for our anniversary I bought several toys and wrapped them up for Jonas to open. He loved everything, but I have to admit....we went a bit over board....poor little Jonas was overwhelmed with all the toys... which turned into frustration. Next year I will not get as many gifts for him at once. My mom also got something for him...but we waited a few days before she gave him his car.

We got him a few of his favorite things at the moment....trains, toy story stuff, dinosaurs, giraffes, zebras, Sid the science kid, and anything from the movie cars!
Before the train set was completed.
Jonas playing with his train for the first time

As you can tell by the look on his face he loved his new lighting mcqueen car!
Here...he's flipping it into reverse

Wow, that was fast!

Okay, so not too long ago I witnessed a break in....I was surprised at how fast he was able to get in!! Three good hits with a hammer and ....sweet victory! Of course I always have a camera on me, so I was able to get some pictures....

Seriously, I was shocked at how fast he was able to get in! Our friends had locked themselves out of the house one night before the meeting...so as Ryan documented and Aaron whacked away...Damaris, Jonas and I waited in the car!

Midland: Icing on the cake

Hello everyone, let me start be saying...the ride up to Ft. Davis was truly icing on the cake for me! While pregnant with Jonas I received several as in about 20 crochet blankets!! I think they are all beautiful and since then learning to crochet has always been in the back of my mind. I once tried to crochet as a young child with my grandmother...but never did anything about it or showed interest again. Well, one of the sisters in our car group is an expert at crocheting!! Of course I jumped on the opportunity to learn on our drive up to Ft. Davis. We made a stop at walmart  to pick up some yarn and a hook. I'm not gonna lie...I had a really shaky start and never got the full hang of it. On the way home I was totally surprised that Rhonda decided to gift me with the beautiful scarf she made on our trip!! Wow, I could not love it more! It was so sweet of her to let me keep it! When I returned home...Rhonda sent me a link to a teacher on you tube and I gave it a try...I finally found a stitch I was half decent at and started my scarf it's not completed, but it's almost done. I guess I can check this off my list...next check is going to be the guitar! I've already stared looking at all kinds of videos and we stopped by a music store to look at the guitars!

My first few stitches
I never finished this one with a tighter stitch
This one was the one Rhonda made for me!
This is the one I'm almost done with.

Midland: Ft. Davis trip

While we were visiting my aunt in Midland, a couple of days out of the trip we took off to Ft. Davis for a little camping....well, maybe some of us camped and the others stayed in a nice warm lodge up the road! In this case I was part of the others. We left on Friday and returned on Sunday. Jonas had a blast as usual...he's our little out door guy! Some friends that attend the congregation in Midland also came. It was so much fun and we are really happy to have spent some time with new friends! The trip was surly something we will always remember because of the great company as well as a couple of hiccups...lets just say between the javelinas and the thunderous snoring...we have some stories to tell!

Breakfast before we left to Ft. Davis

Forty cows inside.
